Half A Man’s Age Plus Seven RULE REALLY!!

Ever heard of the rule that men should date women who are half their age plus seven?

A dating expert says “it’s amusing that there’s an equation for the ‘ideal’ age gap in love. even as method appear as although they have got some kind of scientific credence, the truth is that two loving souls can conquer every difference even age related ones. Rules are made to be broken anyway  – there are no policies in love besides to follow what your heart says.”

However,  in the western world, it’s socially acceptable that women dates a guys who are 5-15 years older without getting all the eyes on her. Whilst a man who dates an older lad, is apt to come uponjudgmentt and discrimination.

Mid-century, the motive for the big age gap could’ve been greed. ladies had little potential to earn income. So their husband was their only way of getting the social and financial status they aspired to have.

Another relationship expert told us that:  That rule had no foundation in reality – however may want to see why it had persisted over so many decades. In addition, this rule might work best for men not women. It’s more common to see a 35-year-old guy, dating a 25-year-old-lady, but if you reverse it, it will not be socially approved to see a 30 year-old lady dating a woman who is 10 years younger than him. This is typical and somehow understandable as most males lag in ready-ness and maturity behind women. Of course everybody is different, and if the rule applied for some couple, it ay bot apply for a million other couples. And maybe this rule has lasted for so long because men are generally attracted to younger women.

Another experts argued that, this is still a decent rule to set a limit to the minimum-maximum acceptable age gap. Age is truly just a number ALRIGHT, however any successful relationship should have mutual understanding and connection as a basis for its continuity. Many of us have seen abnormalities, where a way too much of an age difference, didn’t get in the way for some couple to have a long term successful relationships. But in most cases, you’ll be frustrated when it ends up as a result of the large gap between you two.

Can we rely on such a rule written in early 20th-century, by the men back then?

ََQuoting from the book, Her Royal Highness, Woman: And His Majesty Cupid “I heard the other day a very good piece of advice, which I should like to repeat here, as I endorse it thoroughly: A man should marry a woman half his age, plus seven. Try it at whatever age you like, and you will find it works very well, taking for granted all the while that, after all, a man as well as a woman is the age that he looks and feels.”

O’Rell also gives his readers the advice: “Never marry a woman richer than you, or one taller than you, or one older than you.”

  • While a few convictions may stand the trial of time, this outdated rule doesn’t seem, by all accounts, to be one of them. All things considered, rules are made to be broken.
